DMCA / Copyright Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Legacy Vault respects the intellectual property of others and expects users to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright.

1. Filing a Copyright Notice

If you believe content on Legacy Vault infringes a copyright you own or control, you may submit a notice (under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act or similar laws) including the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorised agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • Identification of the material on Legacy Vault you want removed (include the memorial URL and, if possible, the specific contribution).
  • Your contact information, including name, address, telephone, and email.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner.

2. Submitting Your Notice

Submit copyright notices to Base44 support with the subject line “Copyright Notice — Legacy Vault.” We will review and respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law.

3. Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice with your contact details, identification of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury of a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, and your consent to local jurisdiction.

4. Repeat Infringers

In appropriate circumstances, Legacy Vault will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

5. Please Don't File False Claims

Filing a knowingly false copyright claim may result in liability for damages. This process is intended for genuine copyright concerns, not disagreements about content or memorial access.
